Launch of Eye Health Management course
The restructured Diploma in Eye Health Management (DEHM) course was formally launched on August 1, 2008, at the Bausch and Lomb School of Optometry, Kismatpur campus. The Guest of Honour for the program was Prof Ram Mohan Rao, Dean, Indian School of Business, who presented certificates to the outgoing batch of management trainees and those completing the 1-year community eye health management course. Speaking on the urgent need for trained professionals in the healthcare industry, he underscored the opportunities available for the qualifying trainees.
Prof. D Balasubramanian, Director, Research, welcomed the new batch and formally inaugurated the restructured Diploma in eye Health Management course. Mr J P Singh, Principal, LBW Consulting, deliberated on the challenges facing healthcare managers today. Ms Lalitha Raghuraman, Country Director, Operation Eyesight Universal, and Mrs L Vijaya Ramam, Senior Consultant, LVPEI, recalled their experiences at LVPEI and spoke of the strong value system that is the hallmark of the Institute.
Dr Imtiaz Ahmed, DEHM course facilitator, delineated the road map for the course and gave the vote of thanks.
