6th anniversary of Karamchedu satellite centre
Venkat Lakshmi Eye Centre, the third satellite centre of LVPEI, celebrated its sixth anniversary on June 7, 2008. Since its inception, the centre has screened around 50,000 outpatients and performed more than 7000 surgeries, 70% of them free of cost.
The program began by welcoming the guests and the staff of hospitals, Vision Centres and ICARE, followed by a review of the performance of the centre. The guests and beneficiaries expressed their happiness that the centre is serving needy and poor patients, delivering quality eye care services in Prakasam district. They pointed out that the centre has the capacity to see ore patients and perform more surgeries and appealed to everyone to make efforts to reach out to more members of the community.
The notable guests at the celebrations included Mr. Nageshwar Rao, husband of the village sarpanch and Mr. Veerabhadra Chary, a teacher and beneficiary. The program concluded with presentation of Best Employee awards and gifts to employees for participation in sports events.
