ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This unique training program in contact lenses is designed to serve three purposes - first, to train candidates to deliver the most advanced level of care currently available in contact lens technology to their patients, second, to develop skills in establishing a new contact lens practice in other cities of India, and third, to initiate, design and successfully execute a research probject related to contact lens and report the outcomes in the form of a peerreviewed journal publication.

The program will offer extensive experience in the following areas:

Eligibility criteria 1.Bachelor of Clinical Optometry(B.Optom) with minimum one year clinical experience in dispensing soft and RGP contact lenses / Bachelor of Clinical Optometry with one year Intership at L V Prasad Eye Institute
2. Post Graduate Diploma in Optometry and Vision Science and Master of Optometry from a ASCO recognized college/university
Admission exam Physical written test
Selection Merit in the personal interview
Fee structure National: INR 118,000/- (including GST)
Stipend INR 5000/-
Requirement Trainee should bring along one’s own Retinoscope, trial frame and two aprons (white coats)
Merit scholarships Merit scholarships are available for economically disadvantaged students

Program start date 01 January 2025

Accommodation fee On-campus accommodation is available at a nominal fee of INR 14160/- (including GST) for 6 months. For on campus accommodation, please bring personal bed linen including a mattress and pillow.
Food fee If a trainee chooses to stay in the hostel, INR 33000/- for 6 months to be paid in advance along with tuition fee
