The 'AMR Frontline Workshop' organized at LVPEI campus witnessed over 85 talented medical students from prestigious institutions like Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences, Osmania Medical College, and AIIMS Bibinagar attending this insightful event.
Supported by the Alliance for Pathogen Surveillance in India (APSI) and funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, the workshop brought together distinguished speakers from LVPEI, including Dr Prashant Garg, Dr Bhupesh Bagga, and Dr Joveeta Joseph. They shared invaluable knowledge on AMR, responsible antimicrobial management, antibiotic policies, and the challenges faced in clinical settings.
Dr Ranga Reddy Burri, President of the Infection Control Academy of India, and Honorary Professor at the University of Hyderabad, actively engaged with the students, further enriching their learning experience.
Participants were treated to captivating lab tours, where they witnessed infection control practices and resistance pattern monitoring firsthand. They also took part in several exciting activities, the Medical Theatre session quizzes, and competitions like 'Break the Taboo: AMR Edition' besides a digital poster competition during the Medical Theatre session.
