BioAnveshana: Frontiers in Basic Biology, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics conference

BioAnveshana: Frontiers in Basic Biology, Biotechnology & Bioinformatics conference witnessed notable achievements from LVPEI PhD students Mohd Salman and Deeksha Prasad, who received the Best Oral Presentation Awards.

Mohd Salman, under the mentorship of Dr Vivek Singh and Dr Muralidhar Ramappa, presented his research on 'Genetic Profiling of SLC4A11 in Congenital Hereditary Endothelial Dystrophy, Synthesis of Peptide-Conjugated Cationic Lipopolymers for CRISPR Delivery, and SLC4A11 knockouts Generation using CRISPR/Cas9'.

Deeksha Prasad, mentored by Dr Vivek Singh and Dr Sayan Basu, earned recognition for her work on 'Generation and Comparative Evaluation of in-vivo model for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction: Assessment of Structural and Functional Alterations'.

Adding to the prestige, the awards were presented by distinguished 1993 Nobel Prize winner Sir Richard John Roberts, known for his groundbreaking research on introns in eukaryotic DNA and the mechanism of gene-splicing.

During the conference, Dr Sisinthy Shivaji, Director Emeritus and Senior Scientist, LVPEI, delivered an exemplary talk on his research concerning the 'Ocular Microbiome' and was honoured for his significant contributions to the field.
