Dr G N Rao has been honoured with the prestigious ICO Jules François Golden Medal for 2024 by the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO). Established in 1986, this award is presented every four years to an ophthalmologist for outstanding contributions of the highest scientific quality. Dr Rao received this global recognition during the Opening Ceremony of the World Ophthalmology Congress 2024 (WOC2024) on August 16, 2024, in Vancouver, Canada. He is the first Indian and the 11th worldwide recipient of this award.
