The 1st edition of Dr Kakarla Subba Rao Endowment Lecture organized in honour of Padma Shri Late Dr Kakarla Subba Rao, an eminent bone radiologist & former director of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad was delivered by Dr Lekha Pandit, a professor of Neurology and Director, Center for Advanced Neurological Research, NITTE, Karnataka on the Management of Optic Nerve Inflammations in Children.
The first medical practitioner from India to receive the prestigious Jacqueline du Pre Grant from the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF), based in the UK, Dr Lekha Pandit is a Fulbright Nehru Scholar and a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences India (NASI). She has published 155 peer-reviewed papers and 18 textbook chapters.
