The Standard Chartered - LVPEI Academy for Eye Care Education launched its first-ever Residents' Preceptorship Program for postgraduate students at LVPEI's GMR Varalakshmi Campus, Visakhapatnam, and Kode Venkatadri Chowdari Campus, Vijayawada. Key concepts like Bloom's taxonomy and learner-centred teaching were introduced to enhance educational strategies. Participants gained practical, bedside experience focusing on diabetic retinopathy with demonstrations of imaging techniques such as FFA, OCT, and B-scan, alongside treatment modalities like retina lasers. An interactive session on microbial keratitis provided hands-on learning in the corneal scraping technique, with a visit to the microbiology lab. The program also featured a wet lab session on intravitreal injections, glue application, and bandage contact lens (BCL) techniques, offering comprehensive, hands-on learning opportunities.
