Infor (India) Pvt Ltd reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening myopia management by supporting the third 'Infor Myopia Centre' within the LVPEI network. This state-of-the-art facility at GMR Varalakshmi (GMRV) Campus, Visakhapatnam, is the second dedicated centre offering comprehensive myopia management services for children and young adults in Andhra Pradesh.
Inaugurated by Dr Raja P. Pappu, Dean of Gitam University's School of Business, the inaugural event was attended virtually by Mr Rangaswamy Pothula, Senior Vice President of Infor (India) Pvt Ltd, who reflected on the successful four-year Infor-LVPEI partnership, which began with the first Infor Myopia Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana, in 2020, followed by the second centre in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, in 2022.
Dr Virendra Sachdeva, Head of GMRV Campus, and Dr Pavan Verkicharla, Lead of Myopia initiatives at LVPEI, spearheaded the initiative. Ms Akkina Lakshmi Kousalya will lead the centre and ensure its positive impact on the Visakhapatnam community.
In an effort to empower the community, a public lecture on myopia awareness was conducted alongside the inauguration, reaching both in-person and virtual attendees for optimum impact.
