An awareness session on Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), a condition characterized by increased pressure inside the skull without a known cause, was held at LVPEI's GMR Varalakshmi Campus, Visakhapatnam. The event attracted over 100 participants, including doctors and patients, with attendees from the Kode Venkatadri Chowdari Campus, Vijayawada, joining virtually. IIH can cause headaches, vision problems, and swelling of the optic nerve, potentially leading to vision loss if left untreated.
The session featured valuable insights from Neurosurgeon Dr T Suresh Kumar, Neurologist Dr Venkateswarlu, Gynaecologist Dr Sarita Suresh, and Ms Kavya Poornima, an architect and founder of the IIH Warriors group, who shared her journey with the condition.
