Seventeen researchers from the L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) are featured in Stanford/Elsevier’s Top 2% World Scientists Ranking 2024-four more than last year.
The rankings for ophthalmology and optometry, based on 2023 citations, includes Dr Gullapalli N Rao, Dr Prashant Garg, Dr Mohammad Javed Ali, Dr Swathi Kaliki, Dr Savitri Sharma, Dr Jill Keeffe, Dr Rohit C Khanna, Dr Taraprasad Das, Dr Sayan Basu, Dr Vivek Singh, Dr Swati Singh, Dr Pavan K Verkicharla, Dr Milind Naik, Dr Swapna Shanbhag, and Dr Anil K Mandal.
Dr Shivaji S and Dr D Balasubramanian, Emeritus Directors of Research at LVPEI, are also on this list for Microbiology and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, respectively.
The new entrants from LVPEI to the 2024 list are:
- Dr Swapna Shanbhag specializes in cornea & ocular surface research
- Dr Swati Singh specializes in the lacrimal glands and dry eye disease
- Dr Vivek Singh specializes in stem cells & ocular regeneration
- Dr Pavan K Verkicharla specializes in myopia control and management
