V Rajashekar completed his MPhil in Health Systems and Hospital Management and Masters in Social Work from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He later did his diploma in Community Eye Health and a fellowship in Eye Hospital Administration from LVPEI, Hyderabad.
At LVPEI he works in developing new secondary eye care centres, building their capacity by replicating the successful LVPEI eye health model, with the ultimate aim of providing comprehensive and quality eye care services to the deserving populations in the most deprived areas. He oversees the administrative activities of GPR-ICARE, and contributes in the areas of developing patient-care systems, management systems, and financial self-sustainability. He is a consultant for the evaluation of eye hospitals for Operation Eyesight Universal, India, and CBM, Regional Office (South), India. He is also a core member of the Liberia Eye Health Initiative.
