Deiva Jayaraman

Deiva Jayaraman comes with a twenty-five-year career in Vision Rehabilitation and is instrumental in bringing happiness to many lives dealing with various levels of visual impairment. She graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Science from Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli with “The Best Outgoing Student” award. A PhD holder in Rehabilitation Science from Bharathidasan University Deiva specializes in rehabilitation counselling, visual functional assessment with LEA tools in children with cortical visual impairment & multiple disabilities and special skill training and implementation of an individualized rehabilitation program. She has also done seven certificate courses from Hadley School for the Blind, Illinois, USA.

Her expertise in customizing the professional development programs made her a resource person for the training events on 'Deafblindness & multisensory impairment' by Perkins Voice & Vision, Christoffel Blinden Mission and Sense International India. Developing Vision Rehabilitation Services at Frontline Eye Hospital, Chennai was her remarkable achievement. She has directed a video on “Abacus… a flavour of Maths!’ and released a communication book “Expressions” for the children with speech & language difficulties. She also has several national & international presentations and published articles to her credit.
