Rebecca Sumalini

Rebecca Sumalini completed her bachelor's degree in optometry from the Bausch and Lomb School of Optometry, BITS, Pilani. She has been working as a consultant optometrist in the Institute for Vision Rehabilitation since 2009. She has presented at national and international conferences and has co-authored research papers in international peer-reviewed journals. Both her clinical and research interests lie in quantifying the visual functions and enhancing the functional vision of children with special needs. With that goal in mind, she had taken the lead to initiate the establishment of a dedicated clinic for the children with special needs, called as the ‘Special Needs Vision Clinic’. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD in this field through the collaborative program of Brien Holden Institute of Optometry and Vision Sciences, LVPEI and City, University of London, UK.
