Our partnership with the Cognizant Foundation from India started in 2012 when they first extended their support for setting up a Digital Audio Library for Persons with Visual Impairment at the Vijayawada campus.
Since then, they have upported various programs across the network: Critical Diagnostic instrument to record eye moment in children for Nystagmus (a vision condition in which the eyes make repetitive, uncontrolled movements), the Translational Research Program on Retinitis Pigmentosa at the Kallam Anji Reddy Campus at Hyderabad, large-scale screening of children with Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and treatment in the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, with the most recent one being the support they extended for the training of Vision Technicians, with a view to provide employment to the rural youth who come from economically underprivileged backgrounds.
