He is an AI enthusiast, and has been very active in driving Liver care for ILBS, including designing and building AI driven models for Liver Care, population health, risk-stratifications.


Dr Arun Jose

Dr. Arun Pulikkottil Jose is currently the Head – BRIDGE Centre for Digital Health at Centre for Chronic Disease Control. Prior to this he was the Deputy Director at the Centre for Digital Health, Public Health Foundation of India. Dr Jose currently leads various digital health initiatives at the Centre for Digital Health. This includes an innovative assisted telemedicine initiative – Digisahayam – being implemented in various parts of India, and numerous digital education programs for health professionals in India. He is an ardent advocate for equity in healthcare, particularly digital health equity, and currently leads several initiatives in this regard

Dr Sophia Wang

Dr Wang graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Biochemical Sciences. Dr Wang specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of all different forms of glaucoma, as well as cataract surgery. Her research interests lie in "big data" for ophthalmology. Her research to develop artificial intelligence algorithms to predict glaucoma patients' outcomes using natural language processing for electronic health records data is supported by a Research to Prevent Blindness Career Development Award and a K23 Career Development Award from the National Eye Institute.


Siddharth Angrish

Siddharth Angrish is the CEO & Founder of Jiyyo Innovations (www.jiyyo.com). A technocrat at heart, Siddharth founded Jiyyo to improve the last mile healthcare with sustainable and scalable models. Jiyyo is on a mission to positively disrupt Rural HealthCare with the motto : ’Every Village Deserves a Hospital’. Jiyyo has set up 1300+ asset light last mile health centers in 200+ districts having catered to 400K+ patient visits so far. Prior to Jiyyo, Siddharth worked for about 10 years in the Silicon Valley, California with stints at Apple, Netflix and AT&T. His focus area during that time was applying Machine Learning and Data Mining techniques to the field of Search Engineering. Siddharth did his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from IIT Roorkee and Masters in Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, USA. He has 2 patents in data-science/AI and 3 research articles in healthcare domain published in peer reviewed journals.

Dr Deepa Bhide has over 20 years of professional experience where she has blended medical practice and research with IT and Project Management. She juggles consulting, training, and operations and is proficient in clinical medicine, project management, and healthcare information technology. Starting her career as a medical practitioner, she has worked with varied organizations before her current stint as director and clinical expert for Inventurus Knowledge Solutions.


Makarand Tapaswi

Makarand did his Ph.D. from KIT, Karlsruhe, Germany, and thereafter worked at University of Toronto and Inria Paris. He is particularly interested in teaching machines to understand stories by combining computer vision and natural language processing. Currently, he is exploring how AI can be used to benefit society at large beyond academic research.

Charu Srinivasan


Charu is the site leader for the growing Cloud + AI organization at IDC and an engineering leader for Azure, responsible for the Compute engineering organization. During her near-thirty-year career at Microsoft in the US and in India, Charu has demonstrated engineering excellence, innovation, and strong organization leadership over multiple roles at the organization. She has delivered innovation in many areas including database replication, server virtualization, data protection, disaster recovery, migration, modernization and hybrid management.


Dr Vineet P Joshi


Vineet Joshi is an alumnus of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Pune. He did his internship at the Dr D. Y. Patil Medical College, Pune and his residency in Ophthalmology at the Sankara Eye Hospital, Coimbatore. Vineet then pursued a one-year clinical–lab research fellowship at the Post Graduate Institute of Chandigarh in the Department of Pharmacology and later a two-year fellowship in Cornea and Anterior segment at LVPEI, Hyderabad. Following this, he joined the institute as a Consultant - Cornea & Anterior Segment Services and Centre for Technology and Innovation. Vineet is a member of the All India Ophthalmological Society.

Dr Pravin Krishna Vaddavalli


Dr Pravin Krishna Vaddavalli is the Network Director - Technology and Communications, and is also the Director of The Shantilal Shanghvi Cornea Institute and the Institute of Excellence at LVPEI. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgeons, the Cornea Society and the All India Ophthalmology Society. He is also Founder and Executive Committee Member of the Cornea Society of India and was Founding Scientific Committee Chairman of the Telangana Ophthalmology Society.


Dr Ramesh kekunnaya


Dr Ramesh Kekunnaya is the Network Director – Capacity Building (External Organizations) at LVPEI. The other major portfolios that he is handling include Director of the Child Sight Institute, Director of Centre for Technology Innovation, and Head - Jasti V Ramanamma Children’s Eye Care Centre at LVPEI. Dr Kekunnaya is also an Executive Bureau Director of the World Society for Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (WSPOS), Founder Executive Bureau member of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Network (POSN) of India, and an Administrative Council Member of the International Strabismological Association (ISA).

Dr Venkat N Peri


Venkata Narasimham Peri has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in prominent companies. Venkata Narasimham is the founder and Chief Evangelist at CognitiveCare since 2018. He worked with PwC as a partner and prior to that, he was a Mentor and Advisor at TurboHire starting from 2020.
During this time, he specialized in Transformational Analytics, C-suite advisory, and expanding global delivery and audit transformation.
Currently PV has joined LVPEI as the Chief Data Scientist and Head of AI

Anthony Vipin Das is an Ophthalmologist by passion and an Innovator by choice. He completed his Post Graduate Training in Ophthalmology from Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal. He then pursued a short term fellowship in Oculoplasty under Dr Julie Woodward at the DUKE University, Durham, USA.

Milind Pande heads the Vision Surgery & Research Centre. He initially trained in Yorkshire prior to taking up the prestigious Iris Fund Research Fellowship at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London.. He has over 30 years of clinical and surgical experience in the field of ophthalmology across four continents, with sub-speciality experience in cataract, cornea and refractive surgery.

Eleonora holds a PhD in bioethics and Law with more than 18 years of experience doing research and providing policy advice, particularly on human rights, science, bioethics, future generations, gender equality and education.
They are currently in charge of the social and human sciences program for Latin America and the Caribbean UNESCO, leading the strategy of the implementation of UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and doing research and policy advice to countries. Eleonora is deeply Involved in discussions on ethics, gender, human rights, technologies, neuro-rights, and education.

Vijaya Sunder M

Vijaya Sunder M is currently an Assistant Professor (Practice), Academic Director for the Centre of Business Innovation, and Experiential Learning Program (ELP) Chair at the Indian School of Business (ISB). Additionally, he is an affiliate faculty at the Max Institute of Healthcare Management, an advisory board member at the Center for Executive Education, and an advisory board member for the Executive Fellow Program in Management (EFPM) at ISB. Previously, he was Head of Business Process Excellence at the World Bank Group, USA, Assistant-Vice-President at Barclays, and Quality Leader at American Express and Citi.


Dr Kavya Chandran


Kavya Chandran completed her undergraduation from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute and went on to pursue her Masters at Sankara Eye Hospital, Shimoga. Following this, she completed her two-year clinical fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and subsequently joined the institute as a Consultant Ophthalmologist. Her areas of clinical interest and surgical expertise include corneal transplantation ( PK, DMEK, DSAEK, DALK ), Cataract, ocular surface procedures, corneal trauma and laser refractive surgeries. On the research front, she is keen on studying corneal infections and lamellar corneal surgeries and has several publications in international peer-reviewed journals to her credit. She is a lifetime member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, All India Ophthalmology Society, Cornea Society of India and International Council of Ophthalmology. Besides her clinical work, she is passionate and dedicated to academics and teaching fellows and postgraduates.

Dr Rashmi Deshmukh


Rashmi Deshmukh completed her MBBS from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences with the Chancellor's Award for outstanding academic performance. Further, she chose to train in ophthalmology at JIPMER, Pondicherry and received the University Gold Medal for being the best resident. Dr Deshmukh developed an interest in refractive surgery and cornea while being an international scholar at the Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, USA. She then pursued a two-year Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), formal fellowship in Refractive Surgery, Cornea and Cataract Surgery at Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore. She was on the faculty of Centre for Sight, New Delhi for two years before she was selected for a clinical and research fellowship program in cornea and ocular surface at the University of Nottingham. Subsequently, she pursued a senior clinical fellowship in Cornea and Cataract at the Cambridge University Hospitals.

She has a background in International Relations and Journalism. She produced over 30 publications on foreign policy and tech policy issues in Asia.

Ramesh is CEO, President and Founder of CapsicoHealth, Inc, and a serial entrepreneur. He also drives the Generative AI strategy for CapsicoHealth, AI governance and modeling processes for Pharma and Healthcare industries. Prior to this he was the Managing Director of Corporate Strategy and Analytics at the Advisory Board Company. Previously, he was also the CEO, President and Founder of 360Fresh, Inc., where he led strategy on Healthcare intelligence and clinical decision-making tools for improving patient quality and safety outcomes. He was a principal investigator of a NCI/NCATS Grant on Cancer Care – Treatment Non-Adherence and Early Warning Systems. He is also the co-principal investigator of a prestigious Health Equity project supported by NIH, 2023. He drives thought leadership on AI in Health and Pharma, personalized care and innovative services for Health Care delivery. Ramesh brings to the table several years of experience in industries such as AI driven systems, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, and Supply-Chain services. He’s been a Manager and World-Wide Program Leader for Enterprise Solutions at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, New York. At IBM, over a 14-year period, he helped drive the vision and strategy on early warning systems and business solutions. For his contributions he won three "outstanding innovation" awards and a research division award. He has to his name over 12 US patents and over 70 research publications. He was visiting faculty at Carnegie Mellon University, and he obtained his MS, M.Phil and PhD from Columbia University in the City of New York. He obtained his B’Tech from IIT, Madras.
