Dr Aparna Rao

Aparna Rao completed her basic medical education from Maharashtra, followed by a diploma in ophthalmology from Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi and a MD (DNB) from ICARE Eye Hospital and Glaucoma Research Institute, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. She further did a postdoctoral research fellowship in glaucoma at the Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi; where she also worked as a research associate (ICMR, Delhi) for a couple of years. She then did a glaucoma fellowship at LVPEI, Hyderabad before joining LVPEI. Her areas of interest are research on angle closure glaucoma, congenital glaucoma, pseudoexfoliation and stem cells. She has to her credit many publications in peer-reviewed journals and is currently a reviewer for three peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals.
