Brijesh Takkar completed his primary medical education and then trained as MD ophthalmologist from AIIMS, Delhi, and later worked there as a senior registrar in the Vitreo Retina unit. He has worked as an assistant professor at DMC-Ludhiana and AIIMS-Bhopal which has contributed to his rich clinical experience before he joined the Vitreo- Retina services at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. He has researched the field of diabetic retinopathy for 2 years at CSIR- AIIMS, Delhi.
Dr Takkar has accumulated his research experience as an NTSE scholar and has been certified for good clinical practices by the NIH, US. He has over 170 indexed publications and 30 book chapters to his credit, apart from multiple oral and poster presentations at international level. He has also written and edited a book on retinal surgery. His contributions to ophthalmology include new diseases, new clinical and investigative signs, numerous hypothesis, and new diagnostic and therapeutic methodologies.
