Simmy Chaudhary graduated from the University College of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, and interned at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital. She then pursued her ophthalmology residency from Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. Following her masters, she completed her fellowship in Cornea and Anterior Segment at LVPEI, Hyderabad.
She is a lifetime member of the All India Ophthalmological Society, Cornea Society of India, and Delhi Ophthalmological Society. She has to her credit book chapters and several indexed publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Her main areas of interest are ocular surface diseases (OSD) like chemical burns, Steven Johnson's syndrome, dry eyes, along with procedures like simple limbal epithelial transplantation (SLET), mucous membrane grafts, and artificial corneal transplantation (keratoprosthesis), corneal surgeries such as keratoplasties including lamellar corneal procedures, and cataract. Her area of special interest includes scleral lenses like PROSE and Boston Sight Scleral (BSS) lenses in ocular surface diseases and fitting contact lenses in complicated eyes such as post-corneal transplantations, post radial keratotomies (RK), and corneal scars.
Besides her clinical work, she is an art-lover and loves to paint in her leisure time.
