Indu Pavani completed her medical education at Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal, Telangana, followed by postgraduate training in ophthalmology at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital under Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. She then pursued her long-term fellowship in glaucoma at the L V Prasad Eye Institute.
Dr Indu Pavani is a lifetime member of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) and the Glaucoma Society of India (GSI). She has a keen interest in research and academics. Her main interests are types of secondary glaucoma, paediatric glaucoma, and ocular genetics. She has presented at various national conferences and published in international journals.
